Undignified Love looks like a King who left His throne and laid down His crown, scepter, ring, and royal robe to serve and sacrifice His body and life for His enemies.
Undignified Love looks like a Man who lived a spotless, sinless, and perfect life, suffering a criminal’s death meant for me.
Undignified Love looks like a King denied by those He forfeited His Kingdom to serve.
Undignified Love looks like a Shepherd rejected by the sheep He came to lead.
Undignified Love looks like a Father crushed by the orphans that He came to adopt.
Undignified Love looks like a Bridegroom denied by the adulterers, idolaters, and widows He came to redeem and wed.
Undignified Love looks like a Master who selflessly laid down their life to save His servants and to be able to call them friends, sons, daughters, and heirs.
Jesus is the full embodiment of Undignified Love, rejected, stripped naked, crushed, crucified, forsaken, and murdered.
Jesus is Love. He is the King of kings, the Shepherd to the lost sheep, the perfect Man, the Father to the fatherless, the Friend to sinners, and the Bridegroom to the adulterers, idolaters, and widows. And the Chief Priest who died completely innocently so that those who were eternally guilty would be forgiven for all their transgression.
