When I was freshly saved and attending one of my first men’s fellowships, the church members asked me a question, they asked, “Jonnathan, pre-, mid-, or post-tribulation?”
I was confused and asked them what they were talking about, being that I had spent 23 years as a Buddhist and only 8 months as a Christian. The men laughed at me, belittled me, and questioned my salvation. That evening, I left feeling inadequate and broken.
Today, nearly 18 years later, as a pastor, I want to encourage you to fellowship with an individual before trying to educate them. You might learn something new. It wasn’t until after attending that church for over a year that they asked me about my salvation story.
If you never forget who you were before encountering God’s love and goodness, you will rarely cast the first stone.
