I woke up this morning with this thought on my mind, "The foolish seek gifts to find God while the wise seek God and find His true gift, His presence."
My brother and I grew up with an earthly father who was never present, however, if my mother, brother, or I asked him for something we needed, he would buy it and then disappear. What we all truly sought wasn't the gifts he had, but rather his presence.
When God introduced himself to me, just before I was about to attempt suicide in 2003, He showed up in a big way, making His presence known. His entrance into my life was so big, that it left me with little doubt that He was real. However, not knowing how to have a relationship with my earthly father, I assumed that his sudden manifestation in my life would be similar to my earthly father's, short lived. Thus, I started to fall back into the darkness I was just saved from, only to have Him do it again, and again, and again, and again. Suddenly, I realized that the Father I unknowingly found, was in pursuit of me.
Today, as a pastor, I am asked regularly by people for advice on how to relentlessly live in a supernatural lifestyle. After all, didn't our God promise this to all His believers? I sought God for the answer. Would you like to know the secret?
The secret to relentlessly living in the supernatural is found through the relentless pursuit of our Heavenly Father.
Matthew 6:33 TPT
So above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly.
Daniel 11:32 NKJV
The people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.
John 15:7 TPT
But if you live in life-union with me and if my words live powerfully within you—then you can ask whatever you desire and it will be done.
